Our training program specializes in finishing and conditioning primarily stock-type horses in all disciplines, from trail horses to show horses, with a emphasis on teaching every horse correct body control, balance, and cadence (reining/dressage principles). Horses can be finished in any of the riding disciplines that we teach. Our program starts with some training principles in a round pen before moving to mounted riding. Mounted sessions focus on one building block at a time, to help horses understand what’s being asked of them and to not ask them to perform something they don’t yet have the skillset to achieve. Each training rides lasts 30 minutes to an hour, depending on each horse’s individual needs and level of training. Clients are charged per ride or can sign up for a monthly package (at a reduced rate). Horses can be ridden once to five times a week. Stalls and private turnouts are available for horses in training. Long-term pasture boarders may also participate in our training programs. Limited openings available.

Are you interested in learning how to train your horse? We offer horseback riding lessons and clinics geared towards teaching our training techniques to our students to help them with their own horses.

Students are encouraged to attend local shows in order to complete their learning experience, gain new skills, ride horses under new circumstances, and set goals. The farm attends local one-day or weekend shows (within NC) throughout the year, primarily April through October. Most shows offer a wide variety of classes for young leadline students through advanced riders. We also attend local rodeos/barrel races and reining shows. Students interested in showing will prepare for such events in their lessons. Additional lessons and/or leasing is encouraged but not required. Preparation sessions are also available. Our trainers help prepare students and horses for each show and coach the day of the show.

Does your horse need experience in the show pen? We are happy to show your horse for you!
