Small working farm offering a variety of services! We started as a full-service premier equestrian facility in Kenly in 2002, moved to our Goldsboro location in 2017, and transitioned to a mini homestead around 2020.
Maple Ridge Farm
Maple Ridge Farm is a premier private facility located in northwest Goldsboro (Rosewood), North Carolina, in Wayne County; owned and operated by Nathan & Laura Smith. Our personal horses reside on the farm now, along with our mini homestead. We started with chickens and eggs in 2020 and now raise our own beef, pork, and lamb. Nathan and Laura also work together at Maple Ridge Mobile Vet, offer MagnaWave PEMF services, and breed miniature Australian shepherds. We have one mini Aussie standing stud.
Laura & Nathan Smith
Laura Smith has been in the equine industry for over 25 years, from riding and showing hunter/jumpers to jumping into reining and other western events. She has trained and shown with numerous respected and world-renown trainers in the horse industry. Laura graduated valedictorian of NC State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Science, and is a Class of 2016 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Laura owns and operates Maple Ridge Mobile Veterinary Services PLLC, a mobile equine veterinary practice, with her husband, Nathan. In her spare time, Laura enjoys riding her horses, hanging out with her fur kids, and spending time at the beach.
Nathan Smith is a 2008 graduate from Wingate University with a Bachelor of Marketing. He formerly worked for Stanley Black & Decker in outside sales, before starting full-time with MRF and MRMVS in 2016, adding N8 Fitness in 2024, and getting his pilot’s license in 2025. Nate is an integral part of our farm and veterinary business management. He is also the mastermind behind keeping our farm looking its best! In Nate’s spare time, he enjoys working out, smoking meat, and boating.
